Country guest house

The Hostal Rural Ioar is located in a Palatial House dating back to 1780, set on the slopes of the hill leading up to one of the 10 Wonders of Navarra, namely the spectacular basilica of St Gregorio Ostiense. This Country Guest House is part of the charming medieval village of Sorlada, a small settlement built from the local Roya red sandstone, a place noted for the friendliness of its inhabitants, dedicated to farming.
This Country Guest House is just 5 minutes from Los Arcos, an end-of-stage stopping point along the Way of St James and home to the Navarre racing circuit.

El Palacio

The Hostal Rural Ioar has been carefully renovated, to maintain all the charm and character of this centuries-old building whilst offering all the conveniences and technology now demanded. Our energy saving practices include solar panels to heat the water, a biomass heating system and radiant floors throughout the building, offering you that special feeling of warmth right under your feet.
The materials and craftsmanship are those which have been proven over the 230 year time span of this Palatial House; favouring local materials such as stone, wood, limestone, clay and iron.
This result is a harmony of sensations imbued with the energy transmitted by this land of red earth named Tierra Roya, set in the Berrueza valley. Colours are used to create many different ambiances, relating to wine, bread, spring, dusk … the work is crowned with the glass domed stairwell. The entire building features an elegant, welcoming décor which transmits an air of peace and tranquillity.
The house has been declared to be of heritage interest by the Príncipe de Viana Institution, pertaining to the Government of Navarre and responsible for protecting the Community’s archaeological heritage.
